ABOUT LIBRARY

 

The IIMT University Library has a rich collection of more than 2,08,645 books on a variety of topics and is properly classified arranged for reading purposes. More than 170 reputable national and international periodicals, e-journals, and online databases are all subscribed to by the university. Through numerous computers connected to the World Wide Web, the library has access to the most recent research papers, resources, and information for reference. The best information services are ensured by a knowledgeable and effective librarian. University has also provided book bank facility. The library offers photocopying and printing services as well. To inform them of the many services offered by the library and the process for borrowing books and other reading material, a library orientation programme is held for incoming students.

The library's regular hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Monday to Saturday), but during exams, those hours are extended to 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the convenience of students. The library also contains large stock rooms and reading rooms for both staff and students. There are 15 school or department libraries at the university as well. Their names are listed below:

E-RESOURCES

The IIMT University Library provides access to electronic resources, including data on the Internet. Unprecedented opportunities are offered by electronic resources to increase the amount of information that users have access to. Each user of the library has access to information on any topic that suits their needs or interests. J-Gate, IEEE, DELNET, EBSCO, REMOTLOG, AIR, MANUPATRA these are all subscription services that the university subscribes to. The library has provided ILL service through DELNET and the campus library offers an interlibrary lending service for the benefit of employees and students.

SPECIAL COLLECTION

Wealth of other materials is available at the library, including rare books, competitive books, yearbooks, gunnies books, religious books, novels, special dictionaries, and encyclopedias.

LMS

Through the use of KOHA software and the barcode system for book distribution, the library has started the computerization of its operations. Additionally, it offers "WEB ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOUGE" (OPAC) for finding the location of books and other library materials.

The library organizes academic exhibits for various departments, and new books it has acquired are also shown for the benefit of staff and students.

SOFTWARE TO PREVENT PLAGIARISM

The university uses the anti-plagiarism programmes TURNITIN and URKUND. Both mentioned anti-plagiarism software will be used to check the theses, research papers, etc.

For this, the procedure would be as follows:

  • Students will email their document to their supervisor or research cell.
  • After that, the document will be sent to the library for plagiarism detection by the supervisor or research cell.
  • The supervisor/research cell will receive a report of the plagiarism for further action.
